The suburban neighborhood of Georgetown was originally developed in the 1970s and was built on top of a massive landfill. It is common in this area for structures to suffer foundation settlement due to the unstable soil and refuse below. The Georgetown Shopping Center was built in the 1980s and, for the past two decades, different areas of the property have had foundation settlement issues. Over the course of almost a decade and 4 phases, FSR stabilized multiple units at the Georgetown Shopping Center using a total of 331 helical piles. FSR was once again hired for phase 5, which called for 82 MPS helical piles to be installed to support a new concrete slab. During construction, ownership decided to enlarge the concrete slab, requiring an additional 36 helical piles. FSR successfully installed the 118 helical piles in three working days.
