Permeation grouting is one of the more common forms of pressure grouting soils. The process is executed with low pressure. Grouts used in permeation grouting are broken down into two main categories: Chemical grout and Cement grouts. There are multiple mix designs, each having specific characteristics within the chemical grout and cement grout categories.
Permeation grouting is typically utilized to strengthen and stabilize loose or weak soils. Soils that are best suited for permeation grouting are sands and gravels. By design, the grouts used have a low viscosity allowing them to travel through the soil matrix and create a solidified mass.
Permeation grouting can increase soils structural capacity, reduce the soils permeability to water and stabilize loose soils.
